Vessels: (5) 25rnd x 30” running in parallel Cartridge Dimensions: 2.69”OD x 1.06”ID x 30”L
Current Cartridge Description: Critical Process part # GGD1*0N0FP03B0 is made up of 2-layers of 1.0um absolute- rated pleated microglass media configured in (3) thermally-bonded 9.5”L modules with (1) ~0.75” spacer. Each module is constructed with a polypropylene heavy outer cage, core and endcaps with (2) 0.25” thick Buna-N gaskets located on top and bottom of cartridge. The cartridge is constructed using a 1.3”OD core and contains (64) 0.46” tall x 9.0”L pleats, resulting in ~3.68ft2/9.5” module x (3) modules= ~11.04ft2 EFA/30” cartridge.
Potential Replacement/Upgrade: CFS part # SPFG1.0A30C2B is also made up of 2-layers of an equivalent 1.0um absolute-rated pleated microglass media configured in (1) continuous 29.5”L pleat-pack using no modules/segments or spacers. The cartridge is constructed with a polypropylene heavy outer cage, core and endcaps with (2) Buna-N gaskets. This cartridge uses a 1.04”OD core and contains (57) 0.52” tall x 29.375”L pleats, resulting in ~12.6ft2 EFA/30” cartridge.
The CFS cartridge offers over 14% more surface area as a result not only due to the 0.04” difference in pleat height, but also due to the EFA lost due to the ~1.1” of linear length from the (4) additional endcaps and (1) spacer. These endcaps and spacer not only provide no useful material, but also introduce additional points for cartridge failure.
Summary: Utilizing 2-layers of an equivalent grade of microglass media and (57) pleats @ at our standard pleat height (0.52”), we can offer significantly more area in a continuous rather than segmented 30”L DOE cartridge. If changed-out per differential pressure, rather than PM, this cartridge should drastically increase the through-put/reduce the cost/gallon filtered while decreasing down-time and delivering equal to superior effluent.
